Shane Kemper
Systems Oriented Innovator, Implementer and Explorer
I’m Shane Kemper, an innovative and customer focused systems integration engineer with years of technology-driven product development expertise. A leader with the long-range vision, commitment, and business acumen to formulate winning strategies to improve productivity, build new products, and increase business revenue. An engineer that thinks in systems not components, products over projects, and organizations instead of just teams. An efficient and effective process excellence coach for the entire business. A reputation as a powerful motivator and mentor for managers and individual contributors, actively promoting the highest of professional attributes, behaviors, and skills.
Shane has the ability to define problems, assess both large-scale and small implications of a project, and implement solutions. Shane is accustomed to a dynamic, fast-paced environment where deadlines are priority and handling multiple jobs simultaneously is the norm. Shane enjoys a challenge and works hard to attain the prescribed goals.
Shane believes that a systemic approach can solve most product and program challenges. Shane is keen on working on building a better world by improving performance, safety, reliability for complex systems.
Over the years Shane has held roles such as principal system integration engineer, non-profit co-founder and board member, product/ program manager, business development leader, homologation champion, independent safety/security auditor (ISA), in dynamic industries such as aerospace, defense and spaceflight, rail and transit, R&D, and power generation.
Shane’s scope of work has ranged from large national level infrastructure projects, to complex systems, and vehicles, down to individual payloads, experiments, and components. Shane has worked on many exciting projects with one that clearly stands out - development of a new generation of airships that could transport large cargo site to site. This is using technologies and operations from the early age of flight and bringing them to the current modern era.
Shane is delighted to see the successful growth of the Space Generation Advisory Council (SGAC), an organization that he helped co-found and was one of the early board members. Shane enjoys promoting systems engineering and encourages interaction with many organizations including the International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE).
Shane attended the International Space University (ISU) Summer Session Program in Chile, where the 3 Is (Interdisciplinary, International, and Intercultural) programs become a passion for most ISU alums like himeself.
Shane has traveled, worked, and studied, in Africa, Asia, Europe, Middle East, North American, and South America. Shane looks forward someday in visiting and perhaps working in Antarctica. Shane enjoys being immersed in the local scene while traveling.
Shane has been known to have an infectious laugh and smile though any challenge given to him
